Description

Trollies, run by the Holyoke Street Railway Company, were used extensively in Chicopee until the late 1930s. Shown here is one that has crossed over the Chicopee River on the Falls bridge. The bridge was wiped out in the 1938 hurricane and subsequent flood. Trolley service changed to mostly bus based transportation in Chicopee after the flood.
