Description
A four page newspaper describing the events related to the social groups and athletic clubs of the Fisk Tire Company for the week of August 7, 1919. As reported in last week's edition, the 104th Regiment Band performed and drew a "whopper" of a crowd. The page one story has all the details. Also, another military band is coming to the park. The Naval Band will perform and the Red Tops will play the Navy baseball team at the next Park Night. In other page one news, the Bead Room wins the safety contest and the also the interfactory track meet and the Tube Room employees have returned from their vacation well rested. After the page one jumps and a slew of employee notes there is only room on page two for a story about the Non-Skids win over the Millers Falls team. Page three has the complete Park Night schedule and stories about C.T. Cunningham leaving Fisk to start his own electrical business in Holyoke and the results of the ongoing tennis tournament. Some employee notes fill in the gaps. On the top of page four is a four column photograph of the safety contest winners' picnic. Stories include one on the Red Tops gaining their eighteenth victory, one on the Inspection team keeping the top spot in the factory league and one on the track team practicing for the Labor Day meet.
