Subject

The Fisk Tire Company's Social and Athletic Association events and happenings for the week of May 14, 1920.

Description

A four page newspaper describing the events related to the social groups and athletic clubs of the Fisk Tire Company for the week of May 14, 1920. The lead page one headlines announce the first call for the track team tryouts and the start of play for the Red Tops baseball team. A quick organizational meeting of the men's choir will happen after work Tuesday. Attendees will not be late for supper. Also, the Repair Department has a fast baseball team. Page two holds a multitude of employee notes and a photograph of Tom Breen. Also, there is a note about the permit for Sunday activities at Fisk Park being granted and a brief about health exams for employment applicants going well. Page three stories include one about the Non-Skids excellent prospects and getting in a real practice, one about Andy Phillips being done with wrestling and another on the challenge put forth by the Tube Room baseball team to all other departments. Three photographs of employees and a few employee notes fill any gaps in the page. If that weren't enough, on page four the lead is about the quoit pits being built outside No. 1 building and the lead art shows three sketches of 27 Building employees, Horace Royal, Albert Ethier and Fred Belden, by Fisk artist Jack Slattery. Other stories include more on the Red Tops team and Joe Meodonka taking a trip to Poland.
